Maintaining a personal web site is a time consuming hobby and other personal activities sometimes have a higher priority. I hope to update this Web site with some new material about once a month.

Don't be shocked to find some Dutch text on this web site. Immigrant Talk and stories that I remember of my ancestors sometimes loose their meaning when translated. Dutch text looks something like: Dit is dus een stukje Nederlandse taal.

From the table of contents you can select various topics. Some topics have sub-topics for easy access. Under Crazy World you can expect me to climb from time to time on my soapbox and be critical about society. Sometimes I am very serious, and the other time I am just poking fun.

The lay-out of this web site was changed with the introduction of the Dempsey WoodWoodworking and Flora & Fauna branches. The key was a consistent lay-out across the entire web site, improved readability, and to make maintenance easier for me. In all truth I got tired of the red brick border, and I also wanted to use the Cascading Style Sheets to the fullest now that the majority of you readers have newer web browsers. Let me know what you think.

In Apr-2020 I started a major revision to my website to make the web pages more readable on small screen devices such as cell phones. So far the "World of van Vliet" has been converted, with the exception of the generated genealogy pages which you can better watch on a desktop or in landscape format. The "Dempsey Woodworking" and "Flora & Fauna" pages have been converted as well.

On 16-Jan-2022 the entire website became secured by Positive SSL. This made accessing the Van Vliet Contact List more secure and easier to maintain.

We hope you enjoy our web site. By the way, constructive criticism is always welcome. Mail it to the webmaster listed at the bottom of this page.

top prev next bottom Bio-Rhythm ( 5-Apr-2019)

The theory behind Bio-Rhythm is that our lifes are subject to three cycles which begin on the day we are born: the physical cycle of 23 days, the emotional cycle of 28 days and the intellectual cycle of 33 days. The first half of a cycle are considered to be up days, while the second half are the down days. The cross-over days are considered critical days.

This is my playground where I try out new features. You are welcome to look over my shoulder and say "aha" or "tss-tss". No guarantee that this page will work with your browser, or that it works at all for that matter. You often need to download plug-ins as well.
